Addie Kay Photography » Family and Maternity Photographer in Raleigh, North Carolina

I have been toying with this idea for a while now, but never felt ready to take the plunge. Addie Kay Photography has been my baby in a way. When I started Addie Kay Photography, I knew that I wanted to photograph people. I wanted to see people smile and I knew that I wanted to help people preserve memories. I have always had a love for photography and I wanted to share that love with others. I never really knew what direction I wanted to go with my photography. Honestly, I figured that I would photograph families forever and that would be it. Cute babies in tutus and family portraits with white picket fences were my thing! But over the years, I discovered that I also love a different type of photography. Weddings! And it seems that most of my attention and energy has gone into the wedding side of things for the past year and I don’t think that’s fair to the Addie Kay brand!  The time has come to say goodbye to our Addie Kay brand! It has been an amazing journey and I have met so many amazing people over the years!

I will take a very limited number of senior and family portrait sessions per year through our wedding brand, Story & Rhythm. We don’t currently advertise any of family portrait work on our wedding website, but you are welcome to email us at hello@storyandrhythm.com to book your session.

Thank you for being a part of our journey over the years and I look forward to working with you in the future as well!

I first met Chanell at an yogurt shop off Hillsborough street in downtown Raleigh. She is amazingly sweet and smart young lady who will be graduating from NC State University in the spring. After a month of planning, we finally met for her NC State University senior portraits. NC State’s campus was the perfect location for her graduation photos. Chanell chose an adorable burgundy and tan dress with a pair of nude heels for her first outfit. She looked gorgeous! Her second outfit included an adorable pair of NC State Wolfpack socks with an NC State sweatshirt. She totally rocked her senior portrait session. I am so excited to see where the future takes this Class of 2016 senior!

I love my job. I love that I get to hang out with some of the coolest families. I love that I get to watch our families grow. I love that I get to help each one of our families capture their lives through photographs. I was so happy when Kia emailed me and told me that her family had welcomed a new addition a few months ago. She wanted to update their family portraits from 2 years ago and so the planning began. We met at Mordecai House in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is easily one of my favorite outdoor photography locations in the area. Kia and her family looked amazing in various shades of blue, brown, gray and a pop of hot pink. These guys are such an adorable and fun family. Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0258Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0259Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0260Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0261Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0262Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0263Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0264Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0265Holiday Family photos at Mordecai House in Raleigh, NC_0266
